  • Mulch left or taken, your call
  • 13years climbing

Why Lowbough

A good prune can add decades to a tree, and a bad one can kill it slowly. We cut to the tree's own collar, take only what needs to go, and tell you straight when a tree is genuinely dangerous and when it just needs a tidy.

More about us

Services

What we do

Tree care, removals and stump grinding, across Melbourne's north-east. Every job is quoted in writing and done by our own team.

  1. 01

    Pruning and thinning

Deadwood out, weight off long limbs, light let through, all to the Australian pruning standard.

  2. 02

    Tree removal

Taken down in sections by climbers or crane, even in the tightest backyards.

  3. 03

    Stump grinding

Ground well below the surface so you can turf, plant or pave straight over.

  4. 04

    Arborist reports

Health and risk assessments for councils, builders, insurers and nervous neighbours.

  5. 05

    Storm damage

Fallen trees and hanging limbs made safe, day or night, with insurance photos taken.

  6. 06

    Mulch and green waste

Everything we cut is chipped on site. Keep the mulch for your garden, or we take it away.

Tree check

Should you be worried about that tree?

Four quick questions. It won't replace a proper look, but it will tell you how soon you should get one.

  1. 1Is it leaning more than it used to?
  2. 2Any large dead branches overhead?
  3. 3Cracks, mushrooms or soft wood near the base?
  4. 4What would it land on?

What we'd suggest

Answer all four to see.

Your answers stay on this page.

A rough guide, not an inspection. If a tree is moving, cracking or touching power lines, keep clear and call.

How it works

From first call to finished, in four steps.

No guesswork about what happens next. You'll know who's coming, when, and what it costs before anything starts.

  1. 01

    Free look

An arborist walks the site with you, looks at the tree properly and talks through the options.

  2. 02

    Written quote

What we'll cut, how, what it costs and whether you need a council permit. Usually within a day.

  3. 03

    The work

Qualified climbers, the right gear for the access, and your neighbours told before we start.

  4. 04

    Clean-up

Raked, blown and swept. Mulch left in a pile where you want it, or gone with us.

Questions

Good questions, straight answers.

Do I need a permit to remove my tree?

Often, yes. Many councils in the north-east protect trees by size or species, and vegetation overlays cover a lot of Eltham and Warrandyte. We check, and we lodge the application for you.

Can you work if there's no side access?

Usually. Our climbers lower everything on ropes, and our narrow grinders fit through a standard garden gate.

Will you take the wood away?

Yes, or leave it. Branches are chipped into mulch on site; trunks can be cut into firewood rounds if you'd like them.

My neighbour's tree hangs over my yard. What can I do?

You can usually prune back to your boundary, but not in a way that harms the tree. We'll advise on what's fair and legal, and talk to your neighbour if you'd like.

Are you insured?

Yes, with public liability and workers' insurance. We send the certificates with every quote.
